Life @ Boott Mills

The Boott Mills are an impressive intersection of history and community.

In 1835, the mill complex was built by Kirk Boott on the Merrimack River as a means of power and transportation. They operated successfully until shutting down in 1958 due to the New England textile industry collapsing after World War II. About 20 years later they were incorporated into the Lowell National Historic Park, and a large portion of the mill was preserved as the Boott Cotton Mills Museum. Fast forward to present day, the Boott Mills are now full of hustle and bustle once again, this time as a mixed-use property with loft-style residences, commercial space, community areas (like the concert pavilion), and access to over 4 miles of waterside walkways.
